RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2011, ISSUE #03

"TARGET FIRST SATURDAYS at the BROOKLYN MUSEUM 6-4-2011"

Today, sparked an interests not just in Blitz The Ambassador but in other cultures from what I heard throughout the evening. What I endured is something I've haven't been taken too before.
Live this evening is a AFRO-LATIN PARTY, performance done by none other than Ghanaian recording artist, Blitz The Ambassador and his band, The Embassy Ensemble. Among this celebration, a celebration of Blitz The Ambassador's current album, in stores now "Native Sun".

AKWAABA!!!! thats what I want every one reading this review to say. Say, AKWAABA!!!! When your driving in your car, say AKWAABA!!!! When your listening to the radio or watching tv, say AKWAABA!!!! Or, my personal favorite when your making love, say AKWAABA!!!! AKWAABA means WELCOME, something I' ve learned on my past encounters with Blitz The Ambassador. I was introduced to Blitz The Ambassador at The Fat Beats Pop Up Shop on May 21st. I was impressed with his lyricism and multi-lingual rhyme flow. It encourage me to come here this evening and witness another outstanding performance. Only this time, I'm having the privilege to be entertained by Blitz The Ambassador and his band.

I had an great time today at the Brooklyn Museum watching Blitz The Ambassador and The Embassy Ensemble perform. What an exciting time of endurement, all who came you know what you've gotten. A blessed treat of true live hip hop over some afro beat with a touch of soul and jazz..... oh what a day!

Oh what a day, indeed when something odd occurred while at the Brooklyn Museum. I lost one of the mini dvs that I recorded his performance unto. This really upset me because I did not come out here to stand up for two hours, record a performance only to lose one of the mini cassettes. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the event but you can see my rage. I don't know what could have happen to it I remembered placing it inside my backpack or at least I thought I did. I tried retracing my steps and even visiting the Brooklyn Museum's security office to see if anyone may have turned in anything. According to them, they haven't received anything all night.

This was a kick in the pants. I know, I still have one tape recorded with Blitz's performance of the night. Maybe so but that particular tape was from his earlier sets, he had a much better variety on there. Of course leave it up to me to lose it. It was time to stop dwelling on this screw up and move on. I notice the clutter of extremely beautiful women of all races flooding through the Brooklyn Museum doors and heading straight towards the parking lot/backyard. It seems the world famous, Dj Spinna had a dance party popping off tonight. You know if anyone can cheer me up and get my mind off of what just happened earlier, its Dj Spinna.

Not so bad for a saturday, granted not the saturday I expected but I still had a good time, regardless.

I may only have a half of Blitz The Ambassador's audio performance but I have plenty of photography for documentation to post throughout this article and then some.
