WG MUSIC Presents exclusive "Moolah" music video screening for recording artist, Quesfire at Hell's Kitchen N.Y.C. 405 W. 39th St. btw. 9th and 10th Aves., NYC 6pm-10pm

When you think of the New York City community, "Hell's Kitchen" only one name comes to mind, the 24 time World Tag Team Wrestling Legends, The Dudley Boyz. Tonight, we are gathered here for the world premiere of Quesfire, new and exclusive video "Moolah".

We're at Hell's Kitchen, ironically named where the screening release party is currently going down. In the meantime, we have D.j N.O.E. and D.j Ominaya on the laptops, that's right its blasphemy to use the phrase one and two's these days. While the dj's move the crowd, I'm looking for these hamburgers that Quesfire promised us from Burger Inc. There are no hamburgers around here I want to report false advertisement. The only thing I see are a bunch of stale french fries on the top of the bar. I don't know anything about, Burger Inc. but the name sounds cool and its something new and perhaps better than the usual fast food burgers we use too. Although, later on I did receive chicken wings some very salty chicken wings, YUKK! What y' all trying to do give a brother, high blood pressure.

After my salty meal (lol) more people kept swarming in. Questfire must be expecting a very big turn out here tonight. I would expect a big crowd too considering all the promotion he put in this past month. What everyone received in their email this past month is about to take place at approximately 8:30pm according to the dj.

The debut of Quesfire's "Moolah" video is going on right now. The beginning of the video sets off an mob radiance. Considering the fact that the song and video is titled, "Moolah" what better way to give that theme appearance. Throughout the remainder of the video its, Quesfire inside a nightclub. Which is also good considering the song is a definite sure shot club banger. I'm talking real time club banger not one of those fake down south club bangers we' ve been hearing for the past decade. The record, "Moolah" has that original New York City club hip hop style that we were use too. Quesfire have bought that back with just this one record.

This was an brilliant idea and concept to have a video release party. You rarely get an event like this. I' ve been invited to a lot of artist's video shoots but never a video screening release party.

I know quite a few artists that whenever they have a new music video I always receive invites for the day their video will be debuted on facebook but this right here is more official. Having an video release party at an actual venue is something artists should take into consideration from time to time. It's an marketing investment to consider.

You don't have to believe me, just ask Quesfire. I know after tonight, he'll continue to receive.... "STACKS, PAPER, DOLLAZ, MOOLAH"

I want to thank, Quesfire for inviting me tonight and let him know I really appreciate the invite and the video that's why I extend my courtesy back to you with a steadfast review. Peace brother, much success from Dj Handspin and Rusty Jabbz Ent.

Fort Greene Annual Park Festival June 25, 2011: Guest Starring; Mos Def

I made a vow to stay in bed and relax for the rest of the week. I've been going hard for the past couple of the days travelling around from concert to concert. After, tuesday night performance of Talib Kweli in Red Hook Park I chose the itus. I' ve been layed up in the bed for the past three days.

I'm attempted to stop by the Fort Greene Park and see what's poppin' down there this year. I went last year with Common, as the headliner and Malik Yoba and Rosie Perez were the host and hostess of the event. I still have those recordings on file but haven't posted it to my site as of yet. Anyway those files are cold now. If I do decide to go I'll make sure to post whatever footage I receive to my page.

I decided to go out to the Fort Greene Festival, after all. The park was crowded, dam near every spot on the grass was covered. If it wasn't covered with feet it was covered with blankets from people camping out observing the show. Who can forget the mass amount of vendors squattered around the park serving all kinds of food. People of all ethnic backgrounds just chowing down.

Upon my arrival to the park, Res was performing. After, Res's performance came Rahzel. I'm standing in the park not quite sure of any schedule. I arrived mid day, not realizing that the concert is almost over. Up next, after Rahzel was Mos Def. Not to sound like a groupie or anything or have send any type of disrespect towards both, Res and Rahzel performances I had no interests and showed no concern. Mos Def, you can say is the one I came to see. But, before Mos Def we've got a chance to witness a long time performance from Medina Green. They did a quick opening set for Mos Def.

I didn't take any picture footage of today's event. This was more of a chill time. I did receive minor video footage from Mos Def's performance. Today I just wanted to have fun and not think about RJ day. I rarely get that chance.

I enjoyed this evening's event but the only downfall was the fact that Fort Greene is Mos Def's neighborhood. The neighborhood in which he grew up in so of course he's going to bring out a lot of fans, followers and supporters. What made last year's Fort Greene Festival, a little bit different was the fact that Common was the headliner. Being the headliner of a neighborhood that you weren't raised in. Common's performance was much better.

The Fort Greene Festival is an event that I look forward to every year. You'll definitely see me here next year, let's just hope I'm more enthused.

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER JUNE 2011 ISSUE # 10

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2011 ISSUE # 10

It's been a long time coming maybe too long since ya favorite writer's favorite writer produce a real newsletter. I'm back with some hip hop treats on the Rusty Jabbz charts. Your in store for some Ideology, Neek The Exotic, Verse Essential, The Write Bros and Kevin Cossom.

IDE & DJ CONNECT "IDEOLOGY"
4.75 JABBZ
This album was hip hop's back to the future. Both, Ide and Dj Connect made it, "Rugged and Underground". I advise anyone looking for real hip hop to check this album out on, www.creativejuicesmusic.com and/ or www.myspace.com/ideologythealbum.
The soul basis of album came from Ide and Dj Connect, they put in the majority of the work. I heard it took some time but it was worth it.
I still do not know much of these guys. I came across they're performance at a show in Santos Party House. I believe they were the first acts on stage. I know how people feel about first acts. They usually get ignored, which is true but when you have hard hittin' material like these. Who can resist? For instance, "Path of Resistance" and "Devilz Island". I don't want to give too much away. I like to save some anticipation for my readers. Besides I don't give, 4.75 jabbz to just anyone.

NEEK THE EXOTIC AND THE LARGE PROFESSOR "STILL ON THE HUSTLE"
4.50 JABBZ
This is something that we as New Yorkers will forever be used too. On the hustle, On the bussle, On the grind. Everyday, New York lifestyle.
As oppose to being on the constant hustle this is another thing, New York will always be on, the boom bap rap.
Neek The Exotic, another emcee taking us New Yorkers back in time to hip hop's future. Setting off the album on a excellent note with 2 dope bangers, "Still on the Hustle" and "New York". After those two tracks people taste may or may not change. You'll see throughout the course of album, Neek The Exotic is a straight up Queens emcee, Corona to be exact. Do not let that overlook any future purchases you may have scheduled. Neek and Large still come off how they suppose too. Besides in these days this probably the closest we'll ever come to an Main Source reunion. A good reunion it is although there were a few short songs. I think what made this so called, reunion complete was the release party, last month at Tammany Hall. Some real official, Queens day type shit you had almost every Queens emcee from the golden era that made a difference in hip hop up in there. I'm talking about Mic Geronimo, Royal Flush, Cormega, Mr Cheeks you even had emcees that weren't from Queens up in there like Lord Finesse, D-Stroy, Cappadonna. It was something serious just like this album. So go cop it but don't take my word for it. Just ask the producer's who worked on it how good it is.... Large Professor, Lord Finesse, Marco Polo and Carnage then you'll have your answer.

VERSE ESSENTIAL "INGENIOUS"
DELUXE EDITION
4.50 JABBZ
Now I'm still in Queens but this next artist I'm going to review is no, Neek The Exotic in fact he's not anyone from Queens. That is one of things I like about him is his unique style and delivery. Verse can not be compared to another brother from another mother in another borough his lyrics are just that thorough.
I was here last year when I reviewed this album, this is a deluxe edition. I don't understand it seems he chopped down some of the tracks, last year his album had 21 tracks. This new one showing, 17 tracks. I see a new opening had been added to the album, I'm feeling this one much better than last year's "The Opening". Don't think I'm hating, oh who the hell I'm foolin' I'm so Pro-New York. I love any song that has New York in it. Especially if its a song praising the city or not it don't matter. The point is, I really dug the song, "New York Minute". There are other songs you will get to enjoy like I said, he's not your average emcee. He's Ingenious, Verse Essential is offering everyone a "Land of Opportunity" to get a crack at the exclusive encore copy. So, stop sleepin' and get what you can see.

ZEPS AND STARK THE DUTCH PRESENTS THE WRITE BROS
4.50 JABBZ
When I first heard this album my first response was, "Zeps don't be stealin' my government name and using it for your hip hop pleasure". You lucky my brother and I don't fuck y' all up, lol.
It'll be wrong anyway to beat up two emcees that pulled off such excellent hip hop behind the M. I. C.
This album is a hip hopper/ graff writer dream come true. Ode to them both courtesy of Zeps and Stark. A writer can go both ways. There's two forms of a writer when listening to this album. They can be relaying their dedication onto emcees or graffitti artists. That is what makes this album special. Besides the production from underground hip hop's elite producers: Wrekroom Muzik, Incite, Zeps, AZ Blaze, Logrithmic and Money Makin' Mitch.
The majority of the production consisting of smooth, mellow, boom bap hip hop. It has a jazz radiance that makes our culture an art. Thanks to The Write Brothers, we must always remember not to care for the top of the charts. The only chart they must be concerned with are the Rusty Jabbz Charts. Songs like these are pure RJ chart toppers..... "The Write Stuff", "Never Quit" and "Shit For Free". I have other songs I can add to the list and you can too. You can holla at Zeps and Stark at www.turntableizmshow.com or www.boombapacrossthemap.com. Climb aboard, The Write Bros train and don't get off.

KEVIN COSSOM "BY ANY MEANS"

I would like to apologize to Kevin Cossom and Charles Anthony for the late review. I asked, myself why am I even rating and reviewing this mix cd. It's like 2 months old. He probably done did like 2 or 3 brand new mix cds since this one. So, why bother. I only bother because I made a promise to review this cd and I will like to see it through despite its wackness. Before I go any further I must apologize to my readers for changing the format. I know, we've been having fun today with the exciting reviews from top notch artist and then this happened. I apologize for the mix up. To be fair I will not submit a rating upon this artist's cd because those who know me already know what this person will receive from me. That is not hatin', that is Dj Handspin being Dj Handspin. "I'M BACK BITCHES!!!"
On with the review, okay where do I start. I know where, www.kevincossom.com find out all the information you need about him. I'm sorry once again this is not my level of expertise.

We're going to wrap everything up here. I enjoyed all the reviews I've posted up until....
I hope everyone enjoyed what I made in store for the people today.... IDE & Dj Connect "Ideology", Neek The Exotic & Large Professor "Still On The Hustle", Verse Essential "Ingenious The Deluxe Edition" and Zeps and Stark The Dutch Presents "The Write Bros". Until next time, Love, Peace and JABBZ!

City Parks Foundation Presents Summerstage
Talib Kweli, live tonight at Red Hook Park

Another, Summerstage event I'm on my way too. I've been enjoying them thus far and summer only just begun. What a beautiful way to set off the first day of summer with a concert by one of Brooklyn's poetic, Brooklyn's lyric, Brooklyn's finest emcee, Talib Kweli.

It's been about four years since I've heard anything from Talib Kweli. After his 2007 release of Ear Drum, the only time I notice Talib Kweli's name being mentioned was as a guest dj at various night clubs in New York City. Talib Kweli have taken up the art of djing. Although I've never gotten an opportunity to attend a Talib Kweli party. I don't think it can beat what's about to go down this evening. I think a Talib Kweli concert beats a Talib Kweli party anytime. This is no disrespect to his dj skills, I prefer to see the brother rock the mic, right.

My eyebrows even raised when I first heard that Talib Kweli became a C.E.O. of his own record label. Seeing, Talib Kweli as a mogul makes you wonder and think "Can, he really pull this off?"
I don't know, if Talib Kweli can pull off being a mogul. What I do know, Talib Kweli tonight can pull off this show. He, being an excellent artist and performer. I'am definitely looking forward to what's in store.

Arrived in Red Hook, missing my stop. According to M.T.A., the Smith & 9th St. station will be closed for a whole year due to repairs. So the F-Train, skipped that stop and went to 4th Ave. Today wasn't the day to learn how to navigate around Red Hook neighborhood blocks. Believe, what I say, today wasn't that day to do so, due to the heat. Extremely hot weather usually means rolling sweat down your body. There is rumor of rain, today. I don't think rain would stop these people from seeing, Talib Kweli perform this evening.

Once I arrived at the park there were people outside camped out "picnic style" awaiting the arrival of Talib Kweli. This is my third appearance coming to this park. My first was back in 2009 seeing, Shabazz The Disciple. My second appearance was last year, 2010 when I seen Jay Electronica perform. Tonight I'm back at Red Hook Park to witness another classic hip hop performance. I always receive great comfort and amusement in Red Hook.
There have been other times but those are none of my reader's business thats more personal. Tonight, we are out here in the spirit, mind, body and soul of HIP HOP!

This classic hip hop performance that I graciously speak of began at 6:45 with Los Angeles own' Dj Spin-A-Lect. The funny thing I thought they've introduce, Dj Spinna to be the opening dj.
I was later corrected. I should have known better, Dj Spinna wouldn't play songs like "Lil' Kim Crush On You", "Jay Z Jigga", "Ol' Dirty Bastard Shimmy Shimmy Ya", "Nas Made You Look" Well, you get the point.
Dj Spin-A-Lect did his thing despite my misconception. Spin-A-Lect, rocked for about a half an hour until the show got underway.

Talib Kweli took stage at 715, rocking till about 845. I didn't stay all the way to the ending. I wanted to beat the rush back to the subway. Trust me if you were out here and seen what occurred you would too. For the simple fact that, people just kept on showing up during the concert. Even when I left the park at 830, people were still coming regardless the concert is about to end in another half an hour. The park was packed not too capacity. Its an extremely large park I'm pretty sure it would have held more people if more people kept coming.

I have to send my shout outs to the organizers of the City Parks Foundation for putting this night together. It was amazing even though a lot of the songs Talib Kweli performed came from his "Gutter Rainbow" album. If anyone was out here you think this was a Gutter Rainbow Tour. I'm not too familiar with this album. I heard it was released this past, Jan. 2011 through a joint venture with Duck Down.

My compassion for Talib Kweli have some what faded. I know to some that sounds like a bad thing to say but its always been that way with me and all other hip hop artist. There comes a point in a fan's life where he or she must draw the line and have some sort of a cut off point. I hope I'm making sense.

You get to that place in the artist's discography where you just want to say, "Hey I heard enough of you! I don't want to hear you anymore! I'm looking for other emcees to listen too!" I know it sounds cruel but thats how I always lived through hip hop and thats why I was clueless to the majority of the "Gutter Rainbow" songs Talib Kweli was performing.

Despite my clueless of "Gutter Rainbow", the album and tonight's free concert was a good one. Now after hearing and liking some of the songs from tonight's Gutter Rainbow Tour, would that convince me to go out and purchase the album... ick probably not. You can call me whatever you want, a hater, an un-supporter, a critic but I know who I'am and that's a TYPICAL NEW YORKER!!!

A typical, New Yorker someone who just enjoy seeing there favorite artist at a concert as a opposed to buying their album. This concept is mainly focused upon hip hop. I just recently figured out the concept. So many of us New Yorkers would prefer to see their favorite hip hop artists live on stage rather than purchase their cd.

When people across the coast would say, New Yorkers don't support their own. You can see and understand now. We're mainly in it for the live on stage appeal, this is a city that never sleeps.
Thank you very much too, Talib Kweli for keeping everyone awake here this evening but the night is not over. What I was saying about the city never sleeping, you can continue to see more Talib Kweli tonight at The Highline Ballroom for a Duck Down records event starring: Smif N Wessun, Pete Rock, Guilty Simpson, Skyzoo, Big Sean and more.

Good Night,

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER JUNE 2011 ISSUE # 09

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2011, ISSUE # 09
Presents.... HEBONICS 101

Now pay close attention as I break this, Hebonics shit down. Today, was the most interesting day I have had in such a long time. After observing and experiencing the lyric wizardry of Hebrew emcees. I been somewhat aware to Hebrew emcees in Hip Hop but never knew the movement was deeper than expected. Until I came across, Sneakas - Hebonics 101 mixtape Guest Starring: Paul Rosenberg. Paul Rosenberg, I was never sure if he was Hebrew or not. If you look at his skin tone, he's look more Hispanic than Jewish. I'm sorry, Paul if I may have offended you with that comment. I always thought, Paul Rosenberg was more of a stage name. I never knew it was his actual name and his actual religion behind the name.
I apologize for being clueless but I think that is the nature of this, "Hebonics 101" project. To open the mind of other people that may be clueless to Jewish emcees in Hip Hop. Listening to this cd you wouldn't think its an big deal. Right now, your probably asking yourselves "Why is Handspin taking the time to write about a topic as such". Or, maybe your not thinking that at all but I would like to come out here and show my support to their movement and express my feelings towards the mixtape I've heard. I think its a remarkable attempt at getting people to open up. I might be getting ahead of myself, I've been told that several times. Can we at least go through Hip Hop's history of Jewish emcees. There are a few of you out there reading this that can actually name a one hand full of Jewish emcees if that many. If asked, however I bet you can run down every single emcee that is either Muslim or God Body. I admit there were a lot Jewish emcee defaults in the music business like 2 Live Jews for one. That should not accommodate for the other Jewish emcees that paved the way and prospered. Artist like and I'm going to put this in bold because I want y' all muthafuckaz to see their names.... M.C.A & AD Rock of The Beastie Boyz, Remedy, Ill Bill & Necro, the super Jew, Shyne and Hip Hop's Jewish Veteran, M.C. Serch
and this is only scratching the surface because there are others like the two people I chose to review today, Sneakas and Jesse Abraham. Hip Hop's Next Jewish Idols.

For more information and downloads on Sneakas "Hebonics 101" visit www.sneakasny.com

How many people get music through their email on a constant from emcees like the one I'm about to refer too. At those times I never taken the liberty to listen to any of his music until now. Ironically, the album is titled "One Day" that's what I always kept telling myself, one day Jesse. Well, today is that day. I apologize for not steppin' up to the plate sooner.
I'm going to be honest though there is a reason why I was half steppin' on listening to your past material. After going through this 14 track album several times it took a very long time to draw a conclusion.
I didn't want to compare this artist to another. I just couldn't wrap myself around his lyrics at first. I felt the best thing to do was to focus on the production. Jesse Abraham scored great production from some great producers. Production on the album came from K. O. Beatz, Spills, Ill Mind, Trace Thomas, Jinesis, Panjabi M.C. and The Neptunes . I know, Jinesis I'm familiar with his work. He's definitely got some product. The Neptunes produced track' Holy Crap! was actually good work done on their part. I was never a big, Neptunes fan only when it came to working with The Clipse.

This is a 14 track album. Halfway through the album thing's done changed just ask, Jesse and Ill Mind on track 7 "Past The Margin f/ Blu" I want every emcee, whether your a wanna be emcee, a bedroom emcee, corner store emcee, whatever emcee you claim to be you need to listen to this track. This is a eye opener, ring toner and serato/ mp3 playlist and all that other good shit. Congratulations, to Jesse and Ill for choosing two separate tracks from Hip Hop's elite emcees' Nas and Lauryn Hill. Great touch for the hook.

HIP HOP QUOTABLE
"I sip the dom p watching Ghandi until I'm charged writing in my book of rhymes all the words past the margins.... while you imitating Al Capone I'll be reading Simone and defecating on your microphone" From Nas and Lauryn Hill

Track 7, was only the beginning of the second half. Although there were songs in the beginning of the album I enjoyed such as "Spiderman on Vitamins" and "Play On". Play On, which is another Ill Mind production. Ill Mind did some justice for Jesse on this album. I don't know, I sense a partnership some sort of Premier/ Guru thing going on between them in the near future.
There were other songs like the Homeboy Sandman featured, "Always and Forever" and the Fresh Daily featured, "Figure It Out". My personal favorite was the bonkers I think that is a proper word for it. The song, "Ridiculous" produced by Panjabi M.C. that was some sick production and rhyme flow.

I did get a kick out of the album even though there were mixed feelings at the very beginning but focusing on the production at hand help me to draw up a conclusion to what I feel this artist is. He is bonkers, I hope you no one neither Jesse takes that definition the wrong way. He has such a energetic style and flow and personality. It's so awesome being bonkers is actually a good thing.

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER JUNE 2011 ISSUE # 07

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2011, ISSUE # 07

Nice and Smooth, live at Herbert Von King Park
Wed., June 15, 2011 7-9pm
In the city your always faced with dilemas. For instance, being stuck Downtown Brooklyn waiting the arrival of a B-38. In 15 minutes time several B-52's and B-54's have passed by. It is now 7pm, the concert should have started by now. I hope today isn't anything like last week's mishaps of Central Park Summerstage events.

A, B-38 finally arrives and now I'm sittin' here on a tight, bumpy and crowded bus on my way to the concert. I'm pumpin' a series of classic, Nice and Smooth singles to get myself in the mood. Not like I'm not in the mood already. I' ve been looking forward to this show all week. Nice and Smooth, one of my favorite hip hop great emcees when I was coming up. I hope this show turns out to be superb. At least the best it can be.

This is only my third appearance inside Von King Park. I love this park for its cemented bleachers and stage area. So, you know how extremely happy I was to receive a seat in the front row. However, what I didn't love about the park was the unusual pollen and raw fish odor in the air. Despite that nothing could bring down the evening except maybe constant worries of the absence of my camera.

Filming a show on my camera phone wasn't my intention but until my original camera is out of repair this will have to be the substitute.
In the meantime, I'll sit back and indulge the musical styling of Dj Teddy Ted and Special K.
Special K and Teddy Ted are getting the crowd warmed up. Warmed up and amped into a frenzy. Teddy Ted, rocking all the old school party classics. I didn't know, Bed Stuy partied as such. I would of hate to have partied with The Stuy during its drama days. In those days, a good party usually meant a bad ending.

This is my first time seeing, Nice and Smooth perform live. I never gotten the opportunity to see them perform together. I remember, last year's Central Park Summerstage Greg Nice made a surprise guest appearance during Big Daddy Kane's live performance at this same park. I remember, seeing Smooth B two years ago at a Central Park Summerstage event. Performing for the Video Music Box 25th Anniversary alongside Funkmaster Flex and Mr Cheeks.
Tonight, I finally get the opportunity to witness a Nice and Smooth, performance.

It was a lovely performance. Greg Nice always have to play the one upsmen. There were many times when Greg Nice left the stage and hopped over the barricade and made his way into the crowd to gain crowd participation and hype. Leaving, Smooth B on stage to man down the fort. Although there were times when Smooth could have left the stage and joined the crowd. There is a reason, why he's Smooth and the other is Nice. Greg Nice, always full of energy and agility. Even at this age to be able to still carrying on their tradition and be able to entertain a park load of people is a beautiful thing to see.

I' am so grateful to finally get a good Summerstage performance so far and add the Nice and Smooth, performance as icing to this cake. I' am aware there are more, Nice and Smooth to come. I guess, its true what they always said, "we'll be back with more hits".
You can catch, Nice and Smooth at "SALUTE TO HIP HOP" at the Best Buy Theatre 1515 Broadway Hosted by Funkmaster Flex starring: EPMD, Brand Nubian and The LOX

I would like to thank the special guest that came through in support for Nice and Smooth and Hip Hop. Peace and Love to Dana Dane, Marley Marl, Dj Polo.
I never seen, Dj Polo before that was my first time. It was an pleasure and seeing Marley Marl is always a pleasure.

This is Dj Handspin, just want to let everyone know I had a great time tonight. I always have a great time at these events. I'm pretty sure, y' all do too.

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2011 ISSUE #06

79 5th Ave., an address I haven't heard in years since, well I can not remember the last time I' ve been to Red Distribution. I didn't know, Red Distribution still exist, like most New York franchise music labels I thought they were demonished. Until receiving an email on June 13th for a Cormega press party. Now this is very interesting, Cormega having a press party at a place in which I' ve thought been ghost. Spare no hesitation in the rsvp a good writer must always gain great intel at its expense.

Arrived at 79 5th Ave, the building's structure and lobbies construction have not changed. I was surprised to see what have changed, Red Distribution, itself on the 15th floor. Looking more Sony approved and less Relativity approved for those who remember the old look of Red Distribution. I captured the platinum plaque of one of Red/ Relativity recording hip hop groups in mid nineties, Bone Thugs N' Harmony. Surprised to see it is still hung on the wall. You can not deny the amount of money this group accumulated for Red Distribution during hip hop's golden era.

Red Distribution, used to be a label on my vinyl pick up friday agenda. In the days of wax. After the Serato scratchlive and itch came out and took over. Record labels, shut down vinyl pick up days. Vinyl pick up days were now only a memory. Since then, I' ve must have walked by this place millions of times and each time I walk by this place or any other record label in New York City, the memories unfold.

Tonight, it feels good to be here inside a record label once again. I think the last press conferences I was invited were Virgin records for Alfamega and Warner Bros records for Lil' Boosie, I'm not hatin' but it feels "DAM GOOD TO BE INVITED TO A PRESS CONFERENCE FROM MEMBERS OF YOUR HOME TEAM!!!"

Which brings us to, tonight's press conference the opening of the "I Made A Difference Movement". Its pretty self-explanatory on, I Made A Difference. Anyone can make a difference. The key objective for tonight and what bought us together is, "HAITI".

Haiti is still in need of prayer and reconstruction of their fallen land after the 2010 Earthquake.

Cormega taken an vested interests in the Sean Penn's Organization to help with the redevelopment of Haiti.
Cormega has taken the liberty to seek artist assistance from some of the realest emcees in the rap game today. Notice I' ve said realest emcee not the most popular or best selling emcee. I believe, what they're seeking on this project are emcees with a heart. A heart of gold and steel that are willing to do a song to uplift and rejoice towards Haiti. There are no royalties and/or copyrights taking place on this project. Every cent earned is a proceed that goes towards the redevelopment of Haiti.

I would like to ask of everyone reading this issue to stress the importance of this song. It's not your average song. This isn't a song for your jeeps or a song for the ladies to shake their rare ends too. This is a, contribution song. That's why I stress to everyone when making your tweets and plug ins of the song, "I Made A Difference" please do not neglect to forget that we need people to purchase this song. No downloads, downloads can not fix the current state that Haiti is in.

It's a beautiful song that needs the love and support. It's not too often when you have a series of emcees who get together and complete a positive record in the spirit and art of hip hop. When a song like this comes along you must jump at the opportunity.

According to Cormega, he asked a series of emcees to be on the song with him. He was only asking for 8 bars nothing too serious. Just something straight from your heart showing love and believe it or not he received a lot of negative responses. These were artist, 'Mega thought were real. To hear that they deny his movement and proposal says a lot about some of the emcees we listen too.

According to 'Mega, the only artist that had an legitimate excuse for not participating on the song would have been Fame. Fame was scheduled for a tour date the same exact day 'Mega, booked him in the studio and Fame still came through and layed down a quick 16 and still continued with his tour. Now that's what you call "REAL!" pay attention you won't find too many emcees like that. 'Mega was fortunate to gain the features of Lil' Fame, Steele, Sadat X, Redman, Stic Man, Immortal Technique, Maya Azucena not only does that shows greatness on their part. It also shows greatness in the song to have such high powered lyricism and songstress on board. The song also comes full equipped with a live jazz style band, The Revelations.

A lot went into the production of this song there is talk now of putting out a video. Which would be great. They must have read my mind I was just thinking the same exact thing. Like I said, the song is beautiful and it has that message but in order for it too fully be heard and get its message spread to a vast majority, a video will definitely do such a thing.

My name is Dj Handspin Dinero, I would like to thank Jackie O for once again pluggin me into another one of Cormega's ventures. Thank you also to, Lamar Leggard for inviting me tonight and allowing me to witness and be apart of this movement. I'm definitely looking forward too it.
I'm ready, to make a difference.

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER JUNE 2011 ISSUE # 05

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
ISSUE # 05

It's been a long day for me. I been up and on my feet all day grindin' I'm tired. Tired of grindin'. A lot on my foot work today came from looking for a repair shop to look at my camera after yesterday's mishap. It's time now to stop and get on the train and head down to another night at Betsey Head Park (Dam, it feels good to say that again after all these years) with no camera this time.

Another, City Parks Foundation: Summerstage concert tonight.
I'm going to do, how I attempted to do it last night before showing up at last song. Tonight, I'm going to record, Special Ed's performance under my camera phone. Yeah, that's right Mr Magnificent will be there this evening. Keep in mind, the sound quality is not great but that is the best I can do for this moment.

It is getting kind of late, I'm not quite there yet. I'm not in any rush tonight. After last night's misfortune I'm looking at things from another perspective. We'll see where it'll take me.

I showed up to what seemed like a slow beginning was actually an ending. Apparently, a double whammy, two days in a row I'm screwed out of events at Betsey Head Park. Apparently our special guest of the night was in some sort of a hurry. Its only 8:35pm, according to schedule the concert is set from 7 to 9. Someone did an quick performance and vanished. Okay fine, if the artist does not want to stay the whole two hours as scheduled. At least, you can keep the music going where the dj at? No music blazing for the last 25 minutes of the event.

During, last night event with EPMD and Funkmaster Flex, no matter how much I criticized it due to the malfunction of my camera. Last night was still better than tonight by far.
What another wasted night on me. Apparently, my apology wasn't received from issue #04 by whom ever is placing such negative vibes 'pon me.

You know what, fuck it. Its obvious we can not predict what's going to happen in the future. I'm going to continue living my life. This has been the first week in the City Parks Foundation: Summerstage and no luck and love on my side with any of the concerts. Next week, I have another chance at another hip hop spectacle I hope I will have no trouble in seeing and filming....

NICE AND SMOOTH AND AWESOME 2

City Parks Foundation: Summerstage Salute To Hip Hop: Starring Funkmaster Flex and EPMD at Betsey Head Memorial Park

How many people reading this blog used to attend the Betsey Head pool when they were around nine years old? Betsey Head pool, Glenwood pool I always loved going to the pool. It would of been nice if I learn how to swim instead of floating or walking through water. As I got older my love for attending the pools faded. I never thought I would ever see Betsey Head Park ever again until these people came along, "City Parks Foundation". It was only last year when I came back to a child's summertime playhouse.

Summer has no quite approached us yet but the Summerstage event always make it feel like summer is amongst us earlier. One of the first, Summerstage events of the summer goes down this evening. Live tonight at 7 the legendary rap group, Erick and Parrish Making Dollars (EPMD) doing it up along side Hot 97's own Funkmaster Flex. Although it may seem like an encore to me having the privilege to witness them last summer at Queensbridge Park. You never get tired of the sounds of real hip hop. Besides, what's encore to me may not be encore to others. I'm looking forward to whatever is in store.

I arrived a bit early there isn't a sole in sight that's right we're in "BROWNSVILLE!" You may not see the park flooded with your average hip hop b-boy crackaz. Sometimes I forget I'm a Brooklyn resident I could have chilled on my neck of the woods a little bit longer before travelling to these parts. As I sit and lay I'm entertained by a dj other than Funkmaster Flex. Of course, he doesn't introduce himself he's not on the card thats why. He's one of those I'm not even going to say, opener because thats what Dj Live is. This guy is more of like the equipment tester. Lol, what the hell does that even mean? Regardless its still an excellent performance on the laptop. Forgive me, djs I gotten used too not saying 1 and 2's anymore. We can acknowledge the fact they are obsolete and with a laptop you can make up for the substitution.

Just when I thought the party was about to begin. Dj Live took stage and rocked it out, Summertime Brooklyn Barbeque Style playing nothing but the hits. The music for all the ages no matter if your a kid, a teenager, in your twenties, thirties and forties. He was playing the jams to rock too. I really felt like that nine year old snut nose kid in Betsey Head Park, 1984. "Good Times"

I did however wanted to capture this all on film but there seems to be an malfunction with my camera. I can not explain the cause of the hey wire. What I do know, this was not a good time to upset me and ruin my evening. The sole purpose of me attending was destroyed. I made my exit out of the park I didn't want people to see the hurt inside of me.

"GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY!!!"
I guess, God don't like me today I decided to come back to Betsey Head Park and see, EPMD's performance but what a slap in my face. As soon as I arrived back to the park. I hear EPMD performing or rather Erick Sermon performing his hit song, the Marvin Gaye influenced - "Music" which turned out to be the last song of the performance and the end of the night. Talk about a screw job being done onto me, whatever it is I' ve may have done to anyone to receive such negative karma I apologize. Even though I do not know what I'm apologizing for, this is too much drama that one person should carry.

Let's hope tomorrow evening, Special Ed will be here. Let's hope tomorrow will shed a little more light and make my day sparkle.... A-men.

JUNE 2011, ISSUE #03

"TARGET FIRST SATURDAYS at the BROOKLYN MUSEUM 6-4-2011"

Today, sparked an interests not just in Blitz The Ambassador but in other cultures from what I heard throughout the evening. What I endured is something I've haven't been taken too before.
Live this evening is a AFRO-LATIN PARTY, performance done by none other than Ghanaian recording artist, Blitz The Ambassador and his band, The Embassy Ensemble. Among this celebration, a celebration of Blitz The Ambassador's current album, in stores now "Native Sun".

AKWAABA!!!! thats what I want every one reading this review to say. Say, AKWAABA!!!! When your driving in your car, say AKWAABA!!!! When your listening to the radio or watching tv, say AKWAABA!!!! Or, my personal favorite when your making love, say AKWAABA!!!! AKWAABA means WELCOME, something I' ve learned on my past encounters with Blitz The Ambassador. I was introduced to Blitz The Ambassador at The Fat Beats Pop Up Shop on May 21st. I was impressed with his lyricism and multi-lingual rhyme flow. It encourage me to come here this evening and witness another outstanding performance. Only this time, I'm having the privilege to be entertained by Blitz The Ambassador and his band.

I had an great time today at the Brooklyn Museum watching Blitz The Ambassador and The Embassy Ensemble perform. What an exciting time of endurement, all who came you know what you've gotten. A blessed treat of true live hip hop over some afro beat with a touch of soul and jazz..... oh what a day!

Oh what a day, indeed when something odd occurred while at the Brooklyn Museum. I lost one of the mini dvs that I recorded his performance unto. This really upset me because I did not come out here to stand up for two hours, record a performance only to lose one of the mini cassettes. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the event but you can see my rage. I don't know what could have happen to it I remembered placing it inside my backpack or at least I thought I did. I tried retracing my steps and even visiting the Brooklyn Museum's security office to see if anyone may have turned in anything. According to them, they haven't received anything all night.

This was a kick in the pants. I know, I still have one tape recorded with Blitz's performance of the night. Maybe so but that particular tape was from his earlier sets, he had a much better variety on there. Of course leave it up to me to lose it. It was time to stop dwelling on this screw up and move on. I notice the clutter of extremely beautiful women of all races flooding through the Brooklyn Museum doors and heading straight towards the parking lot/backyard. It seems the world famous, Dj Spinna had a dance party popping off tonight. You know if anyone can cheer me up and get my mind off of what just happened earlier, its Dj Spinna.

Not so bad for a saturday, granted not the saturday I expected but I still had a good time, regardless.

I may only have a half of Blitz The Ambassador's audio performance but I have plenty of photography for documentation to post throughout this article and then some.
