RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER OCT. 2011 ISSUE # 02

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
OCTOBER 2011, ISSUE # 02

Two years in a row, Dj Marley Marl and Mike Mancini Annual Birthday Celebration at Cielo. Cielo, a nice looking nightclub in the heart of the meat packing district.

I'm sorry, residence of this district. Excuse me if I over extend my bounds. It seems words on the Manhattan streets, the phrase "meat packing district" is no longer to be referred to this section. This is what happens when white people and the mayor plus other politicians get involved with the redevelopment of this neighborhood. I just wish those same rules applied to the urbanized areas. We all know, it stinks but I didn't come here to talk politics and the upgrade of the meatpacking district.

It just so happen that two years in a row, the dynamic birthday duo of Dj Marley Marl and Mike Mancini manage to throw yet another outstanding bash. Although, last year being its first year along with the special debut of the Def Jam Rapstar as part of the main attraction.

This year, however I felt different. It's still an honor to attend the 51st birthday of one of my favorite djs growing up. That wasn't the intensity inside of me. Though there was a crowd full of beautiful people walking through the doors. Some were dressed properly in proper attire and others were, Well!....

I was feelin' the opening dj, a little bit then he pissed me off. When he screwed up the, Brand Nubian "Slow Down" record. I don't know, if it was intentional but then he screwed up again on another record's mix. At this point, it don't matter the dj lost his cool points. I didn't trip, I knew this busta wasn't going to be on long.

It's now, a quarter to nine and the guest of honor, Marley Marl just walked in. In just moments, he'll be taken over and showing this fool, how a real dj rocks. Once, Marley Marl took over the turntables it was a wrap. You should of seen the dancefloors flood. Marley, setting it off with some house music to get the crowd amped before he crossed over to the hip hop.

Having the crowd motivator, Greg Nice add to the chaos didn't help. You never go wrong with Greg Nice. I guess, Mancini and Marley wanted to spice it up for their 2nd annual birthday bashment. Last year, they bought you the Abstract Poetic Q-Tip's performance and dj stylings which weren't a big deal at least not to me. The only pleasure from last year's party was the debut of the Def Jam Rapstar and everyone in the V. I. P. participating in the game.

We didn't have any of that this year but it was a good birthday party just the same. I wanna say peace and love to everyone that came through... King Sun, Roxanne Shante, Dj Polo, Do It All and Greg Nice.

Peace to my dudes that came through tonight; my dude Duke, Sha, Infinite Cypher thanks for comin' through I know y' all enjoyed ya self and the eye candies in the place to be tonight.

Thanx to Sophist Production for tonight's invite.
