01 JABB IS HORRIBLE
02 JABBZ IS GOOD POTENTIAL BUT NEEDS
MORE WORK
03 JABBZ IS AVERAGE

05 JABBZ IS MASTERPIECE

HELLO IT'S ME! that was the title debut to Timbo King's first single with Spark 950 off the 1993 Who's The Man? soundtrack. An impeccable soundtrack full of classics and hits not to mention an outstanding comedic film starring Ed Lover and Dr Dre. Timbo King, launched his career at a great moment.

However, his career did not quite take off as expected. Which is a good thing because have Timbo King proceeded on with his Uptown records opportunities. We've would have never experienced such elegant work put in over the past eighteen years. Alongside his culture cyphers known as Royal Fam and The Black Market Militia.

Nine days ago, (Aug. 20th) at the Rocksmith store I had the privilege to meet and greet, The God and endure his debut album, "From Babylon To Timbuk2" scheduled for release on Tuesday, Aug. 30th.

The album is laid out with 18 tracks and production from hip hop's best kept secrets. Your only star producer you may consider perhaps, The Rza. The Rza is among the list of production architects. We have production from a slew of producers such as Bronze Nazareth, Vinny Idol, BP, R.A. Tha Rugged Man, Dev-1, Lil' Fame and Akir. The main basis for the album's production comes from, Bronze Nazareth, BP and Dev- 1 for laying in the majority of the work.

This album give an straight up intellectual appeal. Which is something we find so intriguing in all Wu-Tang oriented acts. My personal favorites and stella tracks to look out for is the, "War Dance F/ The Rza". That song remind me of an ancient samoan dance that would be performed during battles that's something the samoan's practice. My other favorite song and track is, "High Ranking F/ R.A. Tha Rugged Man". I always been a huge R.A. Tha Rugged Man fan. He sounds good with any artist. Especially any Wu-Tang type of member.

This album was given to me as a gift and I treated it as such. I must have listen to this album five times within the last nine days. Which is a lot considering the current state of today's hip hop. When you come across an album of interests it serves it justice to give it as much rotation. If I was to sit back and analyze all 18 tracks off of the, "From Babylon To Timbuk2" album. I would have to say, the star power joints to check for are.... "War Dance F/ The Rza", "From Babylon To Timbuk2", "High Ranking F/ R.A. Tha Rugged Man", "Outside Intelligence F/ Killah Priest & Beazy", "Youth", "Brain Food F/ Vision Nons, Akir & Keesha Mishawn" and "Thinking Cap".

Timbo King's "From Babylon To Timbuk2" In Stores and Online Now at amazon, itunes, spotify and more. For more info and details visit, either www.nature-sounds.net or www.timboking.net

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER AUG 2011 ISSUE # 07

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
AUGUST 2011 ISSUE # 07

The Cold Crush Brothers Live At East River Park E. 6th St. & E. Houston St. N.Y.C., N.Y. Wed., Aug. 24th 2011
Am I, HIP HOP or what? 6:17pm and I'm back on the train heading Uptown to East River Park for The Cold Crush Brothers, live in L. E. S.
Especially, after putting in an 8 and half hour shift at Prospect Park since this morning.
First off, I want to start by saying, peace and love to Spike Lee and the 40 Acres and a Mule Production Co for planning another, Michael Jackson Birthday Celebration. This being its 3rd annual set to take place this Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 12pm to 6pm.
Me and my crew spent the whole day setting up the snow fences and the rebars within the Nethermead area of Prospect Park. My back in pain, hands in pain from bangin' a sledge hammer into the pavement all day. No matter what though there isn't any type of blood, sweat or tears that will ever keep me away from a hip hop event. Especially one that's being main evented by New York City's still spittin' and still grindin' "Cold Crush Brothers".

So, my day isn't nowhere near over. It's not over until, The Cold Crush Brothers rock. I'm looking forward in hearing some real hip hop this evening. When I say, real hip hop I'm not talking about the '90's/ golden era of hip hop. I'm talking about real hip hop that hip hop I was listening too when I was 4 years old. The hip hop that came out of The Bronx around the same time I was being born.

I'm talking about those sounds of artists like Afrika Bambaataa, Afrika Islam, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, The Original L Brothers, Soul Sonic Force (RIP Cowboy), Fantastic 5, The Fearless Four, The Funky 4 + 1, The Sugar Hill Gang, Busy Bee and the list goes on and on and it don't stop.

There's one particular group that always stood out to me. They stood out by being on point. On point with their lyrics, rhymes, flow, delivery, dance sequence, call n response sequence and most and highly important, battling sequence. When it came to battling, you were not fucking with The Cold Crush Brothers. They made a name for themselves that still reign supreme among some of the other top notch battle rappers.

In the early days of hip hop being a "Master of Ceremony" was a title that meant something official. A, master of ceremony was just as important as being a doctor or a lawyer. Emcees honored that title and wore it with respect.
Nowadays, the concept "Master of Ceremony" has been tainted for several years going on two decades to be exact. Today's so call, hip hop artists lack the art and its intelligence to be known as a "Master of Ceremony". When I hear songs by Rakim "How To Emcee?" or P.H. "How To Battle?" I say, those are lessons that need to be taught.

Who better than the almighty, Cold Crush Brothers to deliver these lessons. The Cold Crush Brothers make the perfect Hip Hop professors to skool our hip hop emcee youth.

I'm here to make sure that real hip hop and real talent will never die. My main objective is to encourage more people to recognize hip hop as an art, culture and movement. As well as too acknowledge our hip hop forefathers because without them there would be none of this.
I hope after reading my article, some form of light will shine as a sign to spark an interests.

It's now, 7pm I'm walking from East Broadway station to, "The Dome" in East Rivers Pk people give bad directions, I swear. I'm pretty sure the F Train to East Broadway isn't the only way out here. It took me an half hour to walk to the dome.

Once I finally reached my destination. I began recording myself walking into a historical place. ("The Dome" East River Pk where classic hip hop movie, Wild Style was shot)

This evening is all about hip hop. It being the last, Salute To Hip Hop Series under the Central Park Summerstage moniker. It indeed is the right choice to end it with a strong, powerful group such as The Cold Crush Brothers.

The Cold Crush Brothers rocked for a full one hour and fifteen minutes. One Hour and Fifteen minutes of pure history. There were no guest appearance. Just, Cold Crush 100%.
Listening to The Cold Crush Brothers here this evening. I see where Wu-Tang Clan's stage performance influence may have came from. I'm not accusing, Wu-Tang Clan of bitin' "NEVER THAT!" I detect similar qualities within both acts. Both parties, give off that fresh, wild, fly, and bold attitude. The attitude in which lacks in today's hip hop.

I finally got the privilege to purchase a, Cold Crush Brother's cd. It's not the official album but more of an best of their greatest work ever recorded. This is my first ever, Cold Crush release. I kid you not, I know it seems impossible for a man with 36 years of hip hop knowledge and experience and how can I not own one, Cold Crush release.

Cold Crush, merchandise were later made available after the performance. Everything, Cold Crush on sale from cds to dvds to T-shirts. My only complaint about tonight's event was afterwards. I didn't like the brief accusal of theft off of the Cold Crush table. That was kind of cold, GMC to second guess me on whether or not I've purchased one of your cds.

Anyway, I do not want to cry over a drop of milk. I just want to dwell in tonight's event and the fun I had. I just wanna, thank each member of the Cold Crush Brothers. Peace to K.G., A.D., J.B.L., G.M.C., Charlie Chase and Tony Tone (Tony Tone, never leavin' them girls alone!)
You guyz, did a remarkable job as usual. Everywhere you guyz go you, "COLD CRUSH!"

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER AUG 2011 ISSUE # 06

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
AUGUST 2011 ISSUE # 06

SUNDAY, AUGUST 21, 2011 LIVE AT THE CENTRAL PARK MAIN STAGE AT THE RUMSEY PLAYFIELD STARRING: RAKIM, EPMD, FUNKMASTER FLEX AND SURPRISE SPECIAL GUEST PERFORMERS
GATES OPEN 2PM, SHOWTIME 3PM
Back on my feet with only four hours and a half of sleep split in two. I took my first, three hours of sleep to prepare for my routine early morning weekend employment. Then, later after my shift I return home in hopes to gain at least another three hours of sleep but was only able to receive an hour and a half of sleep.

I''m like the United Postal Service, "Rain, Sleet, Snow or Lack of Sleep" you'll always find, Dj Handspin Dinero at an Hip Hop Event, somewhere in N. Y. C.

Today, I head to Central Park for the Central Park Main Stage at Rumsey Playfield.
Today, features Hip Hop Legends and Icons EPMD and The God, Rakim along with legendary Hot 97 dj icon, Funkmaster Flex.
The gates will open in 15 minutes at 2pm and I'm on the train heading to the place as I type.

The show is scheduled to go down at 3pm. I know, I will be there before 3pm but how much standing room will be available. I can predicate, "NO MORE STANDING ROOM AVAILABLE!!"
We'll see, when I arrive in the meantime. I would like to thank, Timbo King and Matt Wyatt of Nature Sounds Records for the listening party, last night at the Rocksmith store. I'm in the middle of listening to Timbo King's "From Babylon To Timbuktu" album. Which will be in stores on August 30th available on Nature Sounds Records. I figure, I get my writer's review on. Killing, two birds with one stone, DAM! I got a lot to write about bye the end of this weekend..
Arrived at Central Park making it in good time. I ran into an old homie of mine, Corporate. He was heading to this monumental occasion to witness, Strong Island's finest emcees.

Steppin' to the stage everyone give it up for Vj Ralph Mc Daniels, except me. This man, Ralph he must host every event. Well let's hope, he doesn't waste time with the yapping like he did at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. Ralph introduces Funkmaster Flex, another person I'm not thrilled to see. Even though I have recorded live footage of Funkmaster Flex throughout the whole Salute To Hip Hop Series. I'm going to sit this one out and not record, Flex. However if anyone would like to see past video footage of Funkmaster Flex during this Summer's Salute To Hip Hop feel free to visit www.youtube.com/worldwidejabbz.

The crowd getting themselves worked up over Funkmaster Flex' s old skool cuts and mixes. So, worked up it got the crowd playin' beachball. A series of beachballs flying around the canvas. Heads are just tossing them back n forth, forth n back, side to side and all over the place.

Funkmaster Flex really bringin' out our hip hop spirit. Funkmaster Flex got heads sweatin' out their ass. He even got me sweatin' and I'm not doing anything but enjoying the vibes.
I'm almost ashamed for not recording this segment. Whatever, I'll get over it.

I feel like I'm back in Hudde JHS... Flex taking me back with my Junior High School favorites.... E.U. "Doin' The Butt", Public Enemy "Fight The Power", Big Daddy Kane "Raw", Big Daddy Kane "Warm It Up, Kane", Chubb Rock "Treat Em Right" Biz Markie "This Is Something For The Radio" and my personal favorite, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam "I Wonder If I Take You Home" that was my joint. The only pop record and pop artist I ever loved.

As Flex, kept on with the old skool flava. The crowd began to break out the heavy artillery now.
I guess them lil' beach balls weren't as much fun. All of sudden here comes two super-sized versions for the crowd to play with. The beachballs were sponsored by Zip Car.
At times it seemed fun and odd to watch the crowd playing volleyball in Rumsey Playfield but it can get annoying. Especially if your a cameraman trying to record the show and a gigantic ball bounces off your camera distorting your focus. Which occurred several times throughout the day, thank you very much!

Funkmaster Flex, set is coming to an end. He was up there rocking for a full hour playing classic solid jams with history. Next on the scene, Dj Scratch I can't talk about him. Y' all know, Dj Scratch is nasty, he ain't the type of dj you talk about. Scratch the type of dj, you gotta see check 'em out at my channel... www.youtube.com/worldwidejabbz. (I apologize for the heavy movement of my camera during Dj Scratch's stage show performance. I hope you' ll still be able to enjoy the footage.)

This was the group I've been waitin' for all summer, Erick and Parrish. I finally had a chance to see, EPMD perform this summer. We all know what happened at the beginning of the summer at Betsey Head Park on June 7th I missed, EPMD then wasn't trying to miss them now. Although there been numerous times I've seen EPMD perform live but when your a hip hop lover, everytime you see an artist or group perform its like your first time all over again.

EPMD, "BACK IN SHOW BUSINESS!!!" Twenty-Two years in hip hop and they still can rock the house.

The rain came and almost blew us away thank, God for the people who came prepared. I guess, we can go back to what I mentioned earlier, nor rain, sleet, snow, or lack of sleep keep me away from an hip hop event. I think, our lord Jesus Christ just proved it to everyone.

The rain came down very heavy I face possible fear of electrocution and video damage. I had to shut down my camera until the rain stopped. I proceeded to watch the rest of EPMD's performance. I promise everyone I'll do a good job with the editing of the video specifically the rain area. Although it kind of looked cool in the rain. Especially with everyone in the crowd holding up there umbrellas. I was unfortunate I couldn't bring an umbrella. You know its kind of impossible to hold an umbrella in one hand and a camera in the other.

The moment we were waitin' for was next. The God, Rakim celebrating the 25th Anniversary to Eric B & Rakim "Paid N' Full". That's funny the last time I was in Central Park's Rumsey Field was when Vj Ralph Mc Daniels & The Vid Kid were celebrating their 25th Anniversary to Video Music Box.

Live on stage, Dj Technician & Rakim (NO ERIC B, "SORRY!") There were a lot of females in the audience that were upset that Eric B wasn't there. We already know, ladies don't keep up to date with the real hip hop because if they did they would know what happen between Eric B and Rakim. Besides I never knew ladies found, Eric B attractive. Oh it must be those several fly gold chains, he used to have wrapped around his neck, lol.

It started to rain again during, Rakim's performance but this time I was prepared. I apologize to my worldwidejabbz audience for stopping the production due to the weather conditions. Throughout the remainder of Rakim's performance I proceed to take photographs.

Even The God Rakim, himself cut his performance short due to the intense weather conditions.
Ending the afternoon with his classic material performed in acapella "Follow The Leader". Maybe, Dj Technician also had a fear of being electrocuted.

Despite extreme weather conditions coming down even harder toward the end of this evening's event. Rakim put on a great performance. A great way to celebrate his monumental 25th Anniversary release of "Paid In Full". Big surprise and a phat shout to Peter Gunz for coming through on stage to rock out with Rakim. Peace and Love to Cormega for coming through as well and rocking out on stage. The Bronx was in the house thanks to Dj Technician I never knew a person who loved and shouted out his borough as much as he did during Rakim's stage performance.

Today's event was something big, Central Park Summerstage Main stage. Between, Timbo King in my eardrum all day and the thought of seeing Rakim Allah on my mind. My day is all full of nothing but, "GAWD DEGREES!"

Timbo King "From Babylon To Timbuktu" VIP Advance Listening Party @ Rocksmith NYC
Saturday, August 20, 2011
I'm on my way to the Rocksmith store for Timbo King's listening party. Timbo King, a member of The Royal Fam and Black Market Militia has been puttin' in work as part of the Wu -Tang affiliates. Tonight is the night, he let's everyone who is invited to hear his debut of "From Babylon To Timbuktu". I would like to thank, Matt Wyatt of Nature Sounds for the rsvp of this evening's event.

I arrived at, the Rocksmith Store at 7:45pm when your late your actually early. I'm the first and only person here thus far. A few minutes after me, some people came through the door with the beverages and food. I guess, chicken wings and liquor are your standard listening party type of meal. I began to set up my camera and capture some footage of the Rocksmith's clothing design.
I'm feelin' the Rocksmith's store. The clothing hung up across the room. Series of remarkable designer T-shirts. Some T-shirts, Wu-Tang dedicated and Hip Hop Quotable.

The listening party began to take underway as more people came to attend and take heed not only to Allah's Mathematics but to, " The Book of Timothy".
It's been along time since I've heard, "GAWD's RAP". Attending the Timbo King event, made me realize what this game been lacking. Thank you to the Wu-Tang Clan for keeping real hip hop and 120 music alive. But there are other emcees and groups that helped keep the tradition and culture alive. Groups/ artists like Poor Righteous Teachers, Brand Nubian, Sunz of Man, Royal Fam, Killarmy, Grave Diggaz (RIP Poet), Shabazz The Disciple.

Coming through hearing Timbo King's album, this evening felt like an awakening. Something that New York have been missing for quite some time. Impressed off what I'm hearing inside the store. I wanted to do something I don't normally do with an independent emcee. I was interested in purchasing, Timbo King's album, "From Babylon To Timbuktu" off of him tonight. But a reaction, I do not normally hear from independent emcees was said....
This is the first time hell must of froze over again on me. How many times is hell going to freeze involving me. I walked up to Timbo King offering to purchase his album and he declined the sale. Wow, that's a first. How many independent emcees do you know that would turn down a sale? Timbo King, claims he's waitin' until his official release date. The album, "From Babylon To Timbuktu" will be in stores and online Aug. 30th.

I want to give another, thanks to Matt for giving me a copy of the Timbo King, album. I requested it for an album review as well as thank him again for the invite of tonight's gathering.
I had a good time and enjoyed myself and the Timbo King, album.
Now its my turn to pay y' all back. Just wait and read what I got to say in your album review.

BLACK MOON WITH LIVE BAND PERFORMING "ENTA DA STAGE" @ SOUTHPAW
FEATURING: SEAN PRICE, SMIF N' WESSUN, IRON SOLOMON, MFN EXQUIRE
Wed., Aug. 17, 2011
Everything is BLACK, this month. The anniversary of the Black Star Line, Black August and this... THE BLACK MOON "ENTA DA STAGE" PERFORMANCE OVER A LIVE BAND
Live, tonight at Southpaw guest starring; Sean Price, Smif n Wessun, Iron Solomon and MFN Exquire.

I'm not quite sure if I should go tonight this is the question I repeatedly keep asking myself. I must soon come to a decision because a big blackman can't keep walking around the streets of Park Slope for an hour and half. These white people are starting to get nervous. I already see, Southpaw got c-cypher lined up outside already. I guess, they're waiting to take down Smif n Wessun again like they did at their Monumental album release party a few weeks back.

There won't be no police interuption tonight. Everyone here tonight is here for one reason and that's "BLACK MOON - ENTA DA STAGE". This is an, 18 year old album. I was 18, when this album debuted. (18 is that right, dam I'm old) Anyway, it was my senior year of high school everyone had the Black Moon look. The baby skullies, the Jansport backpacks, the baggy jeans, the tim boots. It was a must not only to enta da stage of an, Black Moon arena as well as their cypher. Black Moon, set off the urban dresscode for New York City. They later made it official by venturing with Marc Ecko in his Ecko Unlimited clothing franchise.

I guess you can say, Black Moon set off the backpack movement before heads realized there were an backpack movement. From what I'm seeing in here tonight, Black Moon bought out the backpack supporters. I walked into Southpaw during, Iron Solomon's performance. I'm familiar with the artist. I've heard his name before. Having a alias like that one would think, this Iron Solomon is a member or affiliate of Wu-Tang Clan. Looking at him from across the room. I can not help but to laugh. Here you have a chubby whiteboy with thick horn rimmed frame glasses with magnifying lenses. Who would think this guy is an awesome emcee, besides the people that are already in here cheering for him. For someone like me, seeing Iron Solomon for the first time I already had a vision in my head. Well, at least I thought I did. I'm not puttin' down his lyrical skills. I think, he has awesome talent. What I'm addressing is his image. Dope lyrics bring on suave attire. If you don't believe me, just ask the flyest fat nigga in Brooklyn and see what he says.

Iron Solomon was the second opening act. I missed the first opening act, MFN Exquire, I have no idea who that is I'm pretty sure he's another talented emcee. There may be another time when I catch him again.

Smif N' Wessun, begins to set off the "Black Moon Enta Da Stage Show".... Timz and Hood Chek my crew 'bout to catch rek. First song, out the crate followed by my favorite, Smif N Wessun song off "Dah Shinin" album "Let's Git It On". The Smif N' Wessun performance went on from there. I wanna give a big shout out to the General Steele who did a beautiful thing tonight. Having everyone in the audience sign your pair of timberlands. That was so cool keeping the timberlands flowin' in the audience while you guys kept on performing. Wasn't that nice of Steele, he said he will wear those timberlands for the rest of the year. He's planning on doing this same routine when they perform in Canada. I'm so upset that I didn't get a chance to sign the timberlands. I would of really love too but its kind of difficult with the management of the camera. I have it all on tape though and I will never forget this day and that moment.

Sean Price, Rock, Illa Noyz were up next after, Smif N' Wessun's performance.

Finally, the moment have arrived not just for tonight. I'm talking all week from the moment we first caught wind of tonight's event. It's all about to go down, Evil Dee is live on stage gettin' the crowd warmed up like a house party. Actually, I kind of feel like I'm at an house party. Evil Dee gives you that house party/ frat party vibe. He really know, how to rejuvenate energy within our bodies. Especially while the band sets up and Buckshot and 5 F. T., get themselves prepared.

This was an awesome event to witness Black Moon performing with a live band there entire, "Enta Da Stage" album. My favorite part of the show was finally seeing the Ill Caucasian spit his verse from "U Da Man". You all remember, the Ill Caucasian. Who on here reading this issue never heard of the Ill Caucasian? If you don't know, who the Ill Caucasian is, then you ain't hip hop. You know what else that would of made that part good in addition if Havoc made a surprise appearance to do his verse on, "U Da Man".

It was a beautiful event tonight but I do not have any photograph postings to show you. I was so into the video recording. I didn't take satisfactory pictures for my viewers but I have everything recorded and prepared to your viewing at www.youtube.com/worldwidejabbz

I'm seeing a lot of familiar faces like my dude, Poisen Pen the flyest fat nigga in Brooklyn, my dude Danny Sun in the house, I love that dude he starting to turn into a brand new version of me. Every hip hop show I go, I'm guaranteed to run into him there. I gotta say, whut up to Dj FTL, who was in the house. I haven't seen him since the days of Mindspray it felt good seeing him again. To my dude, Charles Anthony who was also in the place. Charles, pardon I know everytime we bump heads I act like I don't know who you are. It's no disrespect fam, I'm terrible at remembering names and faces at times. Usually more names than faces but these things happen. I see you was in the place with your lady I hope the two of you enjoyed tonight's performances. You know, who else had their lady in the place tonight, Rock. There were various times I seen Rock leave the stage to be with his lady in the crowd, isn't that sweet and so gentlemen of him.

I want to thank, Black Moon, Smif N' Wessun, Heltah Skeltah and the whole BCC/ Duck Down Records for putting on this event. I most definitely had a great time. I always find pleasure with real emcees, real niggaz.

Remember, we got all the footage of the night just at a click

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER AUG 2011 ISSUE # 03

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER
AUGUST 2011 ISSUE # 03

P. H. (artist formerly known as Pumpkinhead) album listening party for "Know The Ledge" Tonight, (Mon., Aug. 15, 2011) @ Fat Buddha 212 Avenue A btw E. 13th and 14th St., Alphabet City, NYC

What a great way to end your beginning of the work week. A night on the town in the lower eastside section of Manhattan live at bar, Fat Buddha. I'm here to engage in a celebration with the MCMI family and P. H. for the long, outstanding effort placed onto his latest release, "Know The Ledge".

First, before I go into P. H's review of "Know The Ledge". I must first get something off my chest. I would like to extend my hand in apology to Pack FM for what was written in a past Rusty Jabbz issue. Whether my comments were right or wrong, it was still inappropriate and disrespectful not only to you but to the MCMI family at the same time. When I written said, article I had a different frame of mind. I do not want to spew out all the details that caused this tad animosity between us. I just hope you, understand and accept my apology. The same goes for P. H., GMS and Blitz of MCMI. I hope you'll find it in your heart to accept my apology as well.

I would like to proceed onto tonight's gathering promoted and sponsored in part by MCMI Report, P. H. "Know The Ledge", listening party. Speaking of knowing the ledge that is something I should have done before I put my foot inside my mouth.
This is why, I must pause before the completion of this review. Its for the people who do not know, the real Dj Handspin Dinero.

Tonight is all about P. H. I didn't want to do anything that would screw with his album listening celebration. Since, tonight is all about P. H. we're going to talk about the artist formerly known as Pumpkinhead and the first night we've met. Pumpkinhead, you remember that night.
Let's go back, back into time....
DATE: OCTOBER 06th, 2003 JEAN GRAE ALBUM RELEASE PARTY @ SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT It was so long ago and I regret almost getting into an altercation with Pumpkinhead at that time when I didn't really know who he was that well. My partner, Quazzar was a heavy underground enthusiast than I was back then. I was just starting out in the underground hip hop scene a lot was new to me.
We started a hip hop newsletter and our goal was to be hard asses on these artist(s) and not some sort of writer's pets. We wanted, Rusty Jabbz to be the exact opposite of The Source magazine. We were sick and tired of writer's giving artists reviews just to boost their egos all because it was good for publicity. Or, maybe it was because the labels paid the magazine companies to do so. We at, Rusty Jabbz weren't goin' to be push overs and take bribes and get our asses kissed by artists who craved exposure and media attention.
All that sunk within us and we just absorbed it all in.

I admit, we've took that image too far. The main purpose of Rusty Jabbz was to give underground and upcoming emcees an outlet to shine on. Although, if it wasn't for that night I got into an altercation with Pumpkinhead, I would have never known who he was and never got into his music. Lol, I know that's a very unusual way to score an independent emcee into our outlet. During this time, that was what Dj Handspin was all about. I was an unusual person that did unusual things to score attention for my company. Some were right and some were wrong. It was an different moment in our life.
Bare with me, this is memory lane I'm on. I will be getting off soon.
The point of all this, as per October 06, 2003 me and my homies went to an event and got drunk, too drunk and let loose which lead to drama. That was once a consistent path in my life but what I learned from that night and other nights....
"NEGOTIATE BEFORE YOU INITIATE !!"
That message help me throughout the years control my emotions not only as a person and as a journalist. However, there are times we relapse.

Okay, enough about the past no one here reading this issue wants to hear about Pumpkinhead. They want to hear about, the new emcee P. H. (the artist formerly known as...)
P. H., all it is an abbreviation to the original name but its ingenious for the simple fact it brings a new image to the artist.

Once I arrived I can tell by the lay out of the vicinity we're into something big that P. H. and MCMI wants too debut to the public. Tonight, we have a strong dj line up of a series of djs/ album presenters. Dj Evil Dee, Dj JS-1, Dj Static, Dj DP-One, Domingo, GMS, Dj Haze and
D-Stroy, all will be on the premise holding it down for P. H.

I like these, P.H. "Know The Ledge" track listing sheets printed out and distributed around the bar. The time did come when we got our chance to listen and review the album.
I'm pretty sure, P.H. got excellent responses from everyone who came out. Does it really mean anything, if Dj Handspin review his album. You bet it does. I got a lot too say and I'm sure my viewers would love to hear and learn about P. H.'s new album.

After listening to this album. I may have an understanding why, Pumpkinhead shorten his name. Let's face it, P. H. is more suitable for the ladies and marketable to the media. P. H., just rolls off your tongue. When you put in, P. H's album for your first listen be sure to hit repeat. This is an album, you want to listen too multiple times. Especially if your a past fan of Pumpkinhead. Throughout the album you'll see, a separation of identity within the artist.
The album at first through me off in terms of the music. Very rarely you find a lyrical, independent emcee rapping over dance style production. I figure about the first eight songs had an, commercial radio appeal to them. There isn't anything wrong with that, actually its good. It explains all the females in the place tonight. There were plenty of ladies in here.
You can say, P. H. got that music for the ladies now. Which is something a lot of independent and underground emcees fail to incorporate with their albums. Ten years prior, I don't think I would had ever heard a Pumpkinhead, album like this.

Know The Ledge has balance. This is where the album shows its balance at Track #09 "King Latifah" and on ward to the next one. P. H., suddenly transforms back into Pumpkinhead doin' it up for the dudes this time. Solid tracks all the way to the end of the lp.

I should not be doing this review, its kind of early. Considering the fact that I only listen to a few cuts off the album and then left the party. I'm going to try and remember the key songs that stood out. I believe everyone knows about the first single, "County Of Kings" produced by The Beatgees guest starring: Sha Stimuli, Skyzoo, Ruste Juxx, LR, Blitzkrieg. This was like my ultimate favorite song and video. I remember, when GMS forward it to me and I opened it. I just fell in love. A video shot in Brooklyn portraying various Brooklyn scenery by Brooklyn emcees, what's not to love. Don't mind me, I'm a total Brooklynite. I'm a New Yorker too but I love BROOKLYN! "HOME OF BIGGIE SMALLS" What more can I say?

Speaking of, home of Biggie Smalls another P. H.' Brooklyn banger I remembered, "Dodgerville" produced by Beat Blocked Productions guest starring: Nems and The Flyest Fat Nigga In Brooklyn, Poisen Pen. This was a dope track. This would be like a sequel to "County Of Kings". This is another one of my favorites, I thought this was a cute rendition to 50 Cent's How To Rob? Quite frankly this is better, P. H. is here to teach all you wack emcees, "How To Battle?" produced by Kelakovski. A lot of emcees need that, to learn how to battle. Do anyone know, a better battling coach than P. H.? I have one more personal favorite. This one is a cute one, hook and everything. "Pretty In Ink" produced by Chino, this track right here is 100% strictly for the ladies. I'm talking lyrics, hook and production. This is one of those radio friendly type songs I mentioned earlier. A song like this will guarantee air play and heavy female request. I just love the hook, who wants to sing along with me....
"My baby tatted up, lookin' flyer than she ever did. She tatted up, lookin' flyer than she ever did "My baby tatted up, lookin' flyer than she ever did. She tatted up, lookin' flyer than she ever did
"She ink head to toe, She ink head to toe Whisk the shoulder flo' Lookin' like a Van Gogh"

I know, reading a chorus off the internet is not the same as singing it. My viewers, probably looking and saying, "Dude, what's the melody to the song?" It has a sort of down south flow. What makes this record so cute is the fact that you have P. H. flowin' like Gucci Mane. Me, personally I can not stand Gucci Mane but if you could find an emcee that can replace his style, his flow then I'll ride along with him. The same way, P. H. could teach emcees how to battle? I think, he should add another course to teach emcees, "How To Flow?"

I apologize, sometimes I just catch the vapors and get a lil' carried away.
To all my viewers, supporters and actual readers of Rusty Jabbz if you want you can let, P. H. get you carried away bye checking out his brand new album, "Know The Ledge" online at http://www.mcmi.bandcamp.com
