RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER MARCH/ APRIL 2014 ISSUE #01

RUSTY JABBZ PRESENTS "DOM HEMINGWAY" VILLAGE VOICE FILM CLUB SCREENING, LIVE TONIGHT AT LANDMARK SUNSHINE CINEMA 7 Jabbz
Tonight's presentation starting out with a blacked out screen. Before the picture came into viewing, you can hear the sliding of the jailhouse slammer door. I figure this must be another one of my favorites (criminal dramas). Now, before I go any further I must ask. How many people have ever been placed in a situation, where it causes you to make a decision between your life and your (criminal) alliance. Every criminal supposedly has a code of criminal ethics they're suppose to abide too. It is often enough where criminals and thieves, specifically ones who tend to work with others as partners (co-defendant). Those are usually the one's who find themselves in the middle of scenarios like interrogations, court dates & trials, sentencing. All for what, 3 little words that don't possibly exist "HONOR AMONG THIEVES!" Three words that are more a myth than actual facts. Tonight's film screening, "Dom Hemingway" is about a man (movie with the same name) who spent 12 years behind bars to cover up a safecracking crime. From my understanding, it seems Dom was told to keep quiet for the next 12 years and he'll be taken care of when he's released. More than likely, an order like that being delivered came from none other than cartel leader, Evaughna Fontaine (Demian Bichir). Twelve years in prison and keep my mouth shut and I'll be rewarded at the end of it. That is a lot to put on a man's mind for the next twelve years. Mr. Fontaine will grant Dom his cut of the robbery providing he keeps his mouth shut for the next 12 years. I can assure you his mouth was shut. My mouth would be shut to if I was doing a bid and I knew after my sentence I was going to get broken off my share. Here's the thing when your in prison you don't want stuff like that on your mind. Especially, in prison you have other things you need to be focusing on. Because, it doesn't matter how much money your expecting to receive upon your release. If you don't know how to live and survive behind bars, you won't be receiving anything. I mean, seriously Dom Hemingway already had enough on his mind, he just didn't know it. Or, shall I say realize it. For twelve years, Dom Hemingway sat inside a tiny cell. He missed out on his wife's funeral. He never gotten the chance to say good bye. He couldn't be there at all in his wife Catherine's last dying days of Cancer. This was something that I deem to be important to the film. The fact that Dom Hemingway during the course of his twelve year bid. He also lost his daughter, Evelyn (Emilia Clarke). Lost her in the mental not the physical. She was only 13 when Dom sentence begun. That's an important part to this film, rather than hearing him shout out numerous times throughout the film "WHERE'S MY MONEY?!!! Dom wants to get in good with his daughter again. He's being placed between "finding my money" and "loving my daughter all over". They have always said, "Money is the route of Evil". Maybe in Dom's case it might be. Take a ride with Jude Law as Dom Hemingway on Wednesday, April 2nd(2014). "DOM HEMINGWAY", IN THEATERS WEDNESDAYS APRIL 2, 2014!! Come see the excitement, good luck and bad luck of Dom Hemingway.
