THE RULERS BACK! Now that he's back. Uncle Ricky can you tell me a bed time story, please. Slick Rick, the master storyteller emcee. One of my favorite all star rapper growing up. From the Great Adventures of Slick Rick to Victory.
La Di Da Di we like to party. It's always a party whenever a Slick Rick album is playing. I would like to discuss the new, Slick Rick album "Victory". Slick Rick thinks being a "Landlord" ain't easy. How about being a social media blogger? I got to be careful not to say anything foul.
After listening to the Victory album repeatedly. In today's #hiphop52 the victory is from a man his age whom didn't lose his step or swagger to pull off such awesomeness.
The first time I've heard, "Documents" featuring Nas. I just knew this was going to be a deadly combination. Both emcees, rulers in their own right.
What makes this album different from Slick Rick's other plethora of music.
Is the theme and concept being made in audio format. It's as if every song your getting is in video/movie style. A combination of great music along with interludes. I don't know how people feel about interludes. You may think they're too many.
Don't get me wrong there are some songs that stick out to me. My personal favorites, "Spirits to Cry" "Documents F/Nas", "Stress F/Briggs" "Landlord" "Cuz I'm Here" "Another Great Adventure".
I give the Victory album five jabbz. Five jabbz for his talent, loyalty to the game and creativity he puts inside his work. Most importantly his fashion savvy.
