RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2009 2ND re-ENTRY

Dj Handspin Dinero in the house and I'm here to send my love and grats out 2 Jackie and Cormega for inviting to his listening session at THE WORLD FAMOUS D & D STUDIOS a place where stars are born just like QUEENSBRIDGE, home to this artist. I had a splendid time, me and homie D$ wuz up there along with several other industry heads and hip hop enthusiasts. I wanna give a phat shout out to DJ Premier, Stakik Selectah and Blaq Poet for cummin' thru. Especially Blaq Poet, thanx 4 gittin me tipsy off dat AUSTRALIAN WINE. I don't even drink wine but dats all the liks they had, you know beggers can't be choosers. Its all good. We all sat down in the studio to listen, review and comment about Cormega's forthcoming album "BORN AND RAISED" in stores October 20th. Lets see whut negative things I had to say about the album.

Before I go any further with the review I think I should explain THE RUSTY JABBZ ENT RATING SYSTEM......
I just wanna let everyone know, I gotta let people know that I rate albums on a DRUG SCALE. The more stronger the narcotics, the better the album.
01 JABB = NICOTINE
02 JABBZ = GANJA
03 JABBZ = METH
04 JABBZ = CRACK-COCAINE
05 JABBZ = HEROIN

Any artist or group that receive HEROIN as a rating is the top album on the scale.
Cormega – Born and Raised Listening Session At D & D Studios Monday, October 5, 2009:

Track# 1 The Intro (The 3rd Coming)

Track# 2 “Girl” a hard hittin’ thunderous bassline of a beat excellently composed by LES. The song revolves around the concept of crack-cocaine but rhyming as if one is referring to a lady. Produced by: LES

Track# 3 “Love Your Family” f/ Havoc Produced by Havoc: A smooth mellow type track made for those summer days and nights when your loungin’ with your family and friends. This song makes a good barbeque record. Or, even betta the song gives you that 64 tippin’ candy paint drippin’ cruising da down street kinda feel. The song is a positive song coming str8 from the mind’s Mega & Havoc. You definitely gonna wanna relax to this.

Track# 4 “Get It In” f/ Lil’ Fame Produced by Easy Mo Bee, this is a str8 up record for the streets aint no real pizzazz. Just that record to wild out too. The hook is tellin’ you to, “Get it in so Get it in” NIGGGAAA!!!

Track#5 “The Other Side” Produced by Lil’ Fame featuring live saxophone instrumentation. This is a different change for Cormega, it shows expansion in his artistic talent. According to Cormega he had gotten someone from the New York City subways to perform on this record. It turned out to be a Subway Performer who did an excellent job with the saxophone. This record may not be for the clubs or the streets but you can lounge in the crib with a shawty on your arm and a blunt in ur hand. Or just lounge and think, this is good thinking, relaxation kinda music. This track will blow ur mind. (LITERALLY!!)

Track#6 “Live and Learn” Produced by Pete Rock. This record started off kinda iffy at the beginning I wasn’t feelin’ the beginning of the track but once dat bass dropped I was like WHOA!!! This that real Pete Rock artifact dat we all love. This might be my favorite joint off the album and I’m not saying that cause its produced by Pete Rock. I’m saying it because IT’S HOT!

Track#7 “Make It Clear” Produced by Dj Premier According to Cormega he said he recorded this live here in D&D Studios so we got a FRESH record with a D&D STAMP OF APPROVAL! As we sit here in D&D Studios and view the record.

Track#8 “Journey” Produced by Large Professor Mega just hittin’ us headz with pure cut COKE-COCAINE RAP! This is a smooth track showing Cormega going back in time to his yester-years. Reminiscing of his days on the streets of Queens.

Track# 9 “Define Yourself” f/ Tragedy Khadafi & Havoc Produced by (Cormega neva announced the producer of the track) This song may not be the best song on the album but this song means sumthin’ to Cormega and every emcee cummin’ outta Queensbridge. According to Cormega, there will be a remix to this song featuring Nature.

Track# 10 “What Did I Do” Produced by Nottz I like the piano rub or piano keys swipe at the very beginning of the record then followed by a cymbal and a drum riff. That was a cool way to set off the track. This song is dedicated to all the haters. I might love this song not only for the production but for the concept as well. This song is REAL TALK cuz we all go thru hate everyday, allday. We experience hate from people we know and people we don’t know. We experience hate from people for no reason. So to all the haters out there this song is DEFINITELY FOR YOU! And to all my peeps that experience hate from other people next time someone is mad at you or hate you. You just simply ask, “WHAT DID I DO!!”

Track# 11 “Dirty Game” Produced by Dj Premier, this is a classic I love this track. This was previously released on the Cormega Presents Lake “My Brother’s Keeper” album. “A DAMN SHAME THE STREETS IZ A DIRTY GAME MY HEART STILL ROME IN THE STREETS!” Da bassline is sick, da beat is sick, da lyrics are sick DA WHOLE DAMN SONG IS SICKWIDDIT!!!

Track# 12 “One Purpose” This is just a str8 freestyle no music strictly acapella as Cormega spits a str8 16.

Track# 13 “Rapture” Produced by Ayatollah. That freestyle led us to this song produced by Ayatollah this song and maybe the only song on the album. I don’t really care what Cormega is spitting. I just wanna hear Ayatollah’s production, his tracks give you that I wanna git high or I just wanna git layed whip appeal to it. I would of prefer if Mega just left this track a str8 instrumental. (No Disrespect ‘Mega)

Track# 14 “Mega Fresh X” Produced by Buckwild Introduced by Red Alert Featuring PMD, Grand Puba, KRS 1 and Big Daddy Kane This is sum Cormega paying homage to the old school and thanking them for paving the way cuz without the old school none of us would be here. This sounds like a str8 up Buckwild track. This track was saved last for a reason. You always save the best for last and close the show out with a GRAND FINALE! THIS IS THAT NEW MILLENIUM SYMPHONY!!!!

That was pretty much it a solid 14 TRACK ALBUM that I'm looking forward too when it is released. However, these songs may not be for all ears. Cormega showed growth on this album. This is GROWN MAN RAP. When you hear this album it shows alot more lyricism than his past projects of Cormega but I think what really makes this album stand on top is the production. Beats from A-LIST PRODUCERS like Premo, Extra P, Hav, The Chocolate Boy Wonda, LES and my personal fav' Ayatollah. This album will be a must have, a must spin in the cars, the clubs, the radio and the mp3s.

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER SEPT/OCT 2009

RUSTY JABBZ ENT PRESENTS
"RUSTY N.E.W.S"

Hello everyone its Dj Handspin Dinero and I'm back. Its been a long time maybe too long since I put together a REAL NEWSLETTER. But I'm back in business, how was everyone's summer. Settin' it off in the fall and settin' it off right. I'm back with an Rusty Jabbz Xclusiv' interview from The Crowned Prince Of Underground Shit, Cormega. I wanna thank both Cormega and Jackie O of 4sight Media for taking time out to put this inteview together I really appreciate it. Everyone at Rusty Jabbz Ent are happy for this xclusiv'

01. Handspin: How did you come up w/ the name Cormega?
Cormega: It just came to me one day. It's practically from my name which is Cory. I used
to call myself MC Cor before I came up with Cormega.

02. Handspin: What was it like growing up in Queensbridge?
Cormega: I actually didn't grow up in Queensbridge. I was born in Brooklyn but raised in
Co-op City and Far Rockaway. I used to hang in Queensbridge.

03. Handspin: Who were some of your influences that lead to a career in music?
Cormega: LL Cool J, Rakim, T-La Rock, MC Shan

04. Handspin: When you was growing up in traps of Queensbridge? Were you one
cats on the street corner that wanted to use Hip Hop as an alternative to
sellin' crack or did you really want to be an emcee to the heart?
Cormega: I don't know how to answer that one. It's like trying to figure out which came
first, the chicken or the egg. Being a lyricist is in my blood from back when we
used to rock nursery rhymes.

05. Handspin: It's been seven years since your last release of "The Realness"
back in 2002. What was the reason for the seven year hiatus? What you been
up to for the last seven years?
Cormega: It's been seven years since I released a solo album, but my company put out a
lot of product recently. We had Legal Hustle Presents Got Beats and my Who
Am I DVD which took 5 years to videotape and edit. Also, I had a daughter and
I wanted to spend time with her. She's my priority.

06. Handspin: What is the name of your new album?
Cormega: The new album is called, "Born and Raised" and it drops October 20th

07. Handspin: Who are some of the producer's you have working on the album?
Cormega: We got production on this album from Dj Premier, Large Professor, Easy
Mo Bee, Havoc, Buckwild, DR Period, LES, Nottz, Fuzzy Womack, Ayatollah,
Khrysis, and appearances by Big Daddy Kane, Parish Smith, Grand Puba,
Krs One, Tragedy, Havoc, Lil' Fame, Marley Marl and Red Alert.

08. Handspin: Is this album going to be released on your imprint, Legal Hustle?
Cormega: Everything I put out is on Legal Hustle

09. Handspin: Do you still own and operate Legal Hustle?
Cormega: Yes

10. Handspin: Where can your fans and supporters get in contact with you?
Cormega: www.myspace.com/cormega and www.legalhustle.net

11. Handspin: Do you offer your verses for guest appearances to other emcees
that would like to do a song with you?
Cormega: Right now, I'm not trying to do features unless it's for someone whose music I
respect. Otherwise, I'm focusing on my album and my career.

12. Handspin: Are you planning an album release party? (If so, is it in New York
and can I be on the guestlist? LOL!)
Cormega: We' re doing an album release party at SOBs in New York on October 29th. You
can check their website for info on the show.

13. Handspin: Do you have any shows or tours in the works?
Cormega: I'm always performing. People can check out dates on the myspace page or at
legalhustle.net

14. Handspin: What can people expect to hear on this forthcoming album?
Cormega: A True Lyricist

15. Handspin: How do you feel about the current state of hip hop?
Cormega: I feel just like how everybody else feels.

16. Handspin: How do you feel about the current state of NEW YORK HIP HOP?
Cormega: My answer to it, is my new album

17. Handspin: Do you believe what the media says about, "New York has fallen
off the hip hop scene?
Cormega: Who believes the media? If you're looking for good music, it's out there.

18. Handspin: What do you think you can bring back to hip hop?
Cormega: Integrity and Lyricism

19. Handspin: What are you hoping to accomplish?
Cormega: To put out a good album, one that's better than or as good as my last album, "The
True Meaning".

20. Handspin: Can we expect more album from you?
Cormega: As long as the fans keep supporting my music, I'll keep creating.

21. Handspin: What other ventures are you looking to get into or have gone into
already?
Cormega: Right now, I'm just promoting the album.

22. Handspin: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Cormega: I take each day for each day

23. Handspin: Do you have any wordz of wizdumz and encouragement to anyone
tryin' to make a name for themselves as an emcee?
Cormega: Stay true to the art. Stay true to who you are as a emcee. Don't follow trends.

HANDSPIN:
This next question is personal, Mega. I know you been incarcerated in your lifetime and I know coming home from doing a football number bid aint easy. This next question I want to dedicate it to, 2 people I love that are scheduled for release from prison within the next year or two. I want to know, do you have any advice, words of encouragement or any message you would like to send out to the people behind the walls that are currently serving their time?

Cormega: I never did a football number bid, but my advise is stay true to yourself
and don't fall victim to the same thing and same people who got you
locked.

No doubt, what an excellent interview. Once again, I wanna thank Jackie for arranging all of this and to Cormega for taking time out to do this interview. Everyone be sure to cop Cormega's new album, "Born and Raised" in stores Oct. 20th 2009 and I said cop NOT DOWNLOAD OR BOOTLEG. Actually, get up off ur lazy asses come Oct. 20th and go to your local music store and cop Cormega's Born And Raised. Be sure to check out the SOBs website for the Cormega' Born and Raised album release party going down Oct. 29th. Don't worry Mega, my partner loudMOUF will get the word out in no time. This is Dj Handspin Dinero signing off with another HIP HOP XCLUSIF! LOVE, PEACE AND DINERO!

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER JUNE 2009 ENTRY# 2

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER JUNE 2009 ENTRY# 2

Dj Handspin Dinero here to bring you another exciting issue of Rusty Jabbz Newsletter. I'm glad to have you back with me. Before we get started I gotta explain the rules to our NEW RATING SYSTEM!

01 JABB =
NICOTINE STATUS
02 JABBZ = GANJA STATUS
03
JABBZ = METHAMPHETAMINE STATUS
04 JABBZ = CRACK-COCAINE STATUS
05 JABBZ = HEREOIN STATUS

I review and rate albums on a potency scale of different drugs. The more POTENT the drug the BETTER the album. Always keep this in mind.

"WHO'S ON THE CORNER?"
My favorite part of Rusty Jabbz where I get to listen to various independent artists and projects and decide whether or not they will get the priviledge to be reviewed and rated and later posted to my blog for the world to view. On this segment of "WHO'S ON THE CORNER?" feature the ep of "THE RECAPTURE THE ESSENCE By Jonathan Thomas & Midi Marc and the ep/dvd collaboration of "THE NEW WORLD SIDE ORDER" By CONCEPT, Crazy E and Dj Quazzar.

"RECAPTURE THE ESSENCE E. P.
www.myspace.com/jerzeyrocker31
www.myspace.com/daequation
Original lyrics by: Jonathan Thomas
Production by: MIDI Marc & DaGOD Knowledge
2.5 JABBZ

A collaborative effort of dope lyrics and beats. Jonathan Thomas coming str8 outta B'More and MIDI Marc coming outta South Cakalak. Following the old hip hop tradition of 1 MC/1 Producer. "Intro-No Money Down", is a lyrical preface of the emcee. "Wonderful Game", the song is a mello beat, kinda humdrum, no real lyrics not a good start for this ep. On the song, "That's How It Is" is where the artist picks up the pace, its the 3rd track on the cd, although the beat is wack his lyrical concepts on the song make you 4get about the lame beat and focus on the lyrics only. On the song, "Do I Have", the 4th track on the cd is where the ep hits it BIG with a stronger subject matter and a way betta beat. So far what I'm hearing is this artist still got a long way to go to be concerned with becoming THE GREATEST EMCEE! He is on that that right path. "Recapture The Essence", a str8 up lyrical gunplay explaining the concept on the title track about the title track. On the song, "The Symptom/The Now", the artist does an excellent job on this track which maybe the best track on the ep. Actually it is the best track on the ep. On the "Outro", the artist is shouting out all his gratitudes and thank yous toward some of his family and friends. The Recapture the Essence Ep is a good listen for the boomboxes and the ipods.

THE NEW WORLD SIDE ORDER EP/DVD
MINDspray records
3.25 JABBZ

Phat shout out to Concept and Elaine on their next step in their lives. Congratulations to the both of you. All the best and may y'all two have a blessed marriage life.

Now onto to this hip hop marriage of CONCEPT, Crazy E and my very own Rusty Jabbz potna, Dj Quazzar creating a excellent collaborative album. Together CONCEPT & Crazy E spit dope lyrics with ill concepts and thoughts. A brief ep/dvd thrown 2gether 4 what I thought was on a humhum but the 2 show seriousness as if this is an official release. It goes to show that tru hip hop is not to be taken lightly but tightly. I've heard so many MINDspray collective work. I neva say one project is better than the other. Every project is something different leaving listeners satisfied & wanting more. I knew Concept and the MINDspray family for quite sometime. I never really focused on Concepts and Crazy E's rhymes before. However, there was this one time I seen Concept perform live on stage at Lafayette Grill down in Tribeca. I liked what I heard. I normally feel MINDspray and its other members usually as a solo or duet efforts. This is one duet effort that caught my eye. The overall packaging of the cd/dvd release, the first thing that grabbed my attention was the cd casing in black n white glossy cardboard cover. The artwork of the aliens/martians I thought looked good as if I was a child. "PEEP GAME!" wouldn't it be so ill if an artist releases an album with black n white artwork more often or every once in awhile to allow fans and supporters to use their creativity and color in between the lines creating their own type of cover for the artist. I recently gave my little cousin the cover of this cd and a pack of sharpie markers and we sat around and colored in the characters on the cd cover. It looks so cool the way we did it. I think its a good idea. I hope other artist reading this will take heed and give a thought to it. Anyway, back to the cd itself, "THE NEW WORLD SIDE ORDER". I'm not quite sure of the science behind the ep but you can listen to it and make several guesses and come up with your own final diagnosis of what the ep is supposed to be about. Whatever you come up with it will be good. This ep and dvd is another MINDspray classic to be added to their archives. Concept, Crazy E and Quazzar keep doing what yall do best. Yall betta hit the streets with the fulllength album don't come up in here with a great ep and then leave us hangin'. If they do I want be surprised just like MINDspray always leaving the crowd wanting more.
Anyone looking to know more and become part of the NEW WORLD SIDE ORDER MOVEMENT!
go to myspace.com/thenewworldsideorder, mindsprayhiphop.com and concepthiphop.com

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER JUNE 2009 ENTRY# 1

RUSTY JABBZ ENTERTAINMENT BLOG MAGAZINE JUNE 1, 2009 ENTRY# 01

It's the first of the month gotta get it, gotta get it, gotta get it its the first of month. Dj Handspin Dinero in the building just opening up with a lil' clip for the old Bone Thugs n Harmaony single from '94. I was bumpin' their 1st lp earlier so I'm kinda inna Bone Thugs n Harmony mood. We're going to jump right into the mix of action settin' it off with one of my favorite segments.... "WHO'S ON THE CORNER?"

Before I go into that I must always explain our new rating system for things have changed. The new system is as follows...... 1 JABB IS NICOTINE MUSIC, 2 JABBZ IS GANJA MUSIC, 3 JABBZ IS METHAMPHETAMINE MUSIC, 4 JABBZ IS CRACK-COCAINE MUSIC AND LAST THE HIGHEST OF THE HIGHEST 5 JABBZ IS
HEREOIN MUSIC

"WHO'S ON THE CORNER?"

THE DAY LABORERS - (MAXI SINGLE)
www.myspace.com/thedaylaborers

Coming str8 from New York but its not a borough. The Day Laborers, 2 working class blue collar emcees from Long Island, NY out here on the daily grind of NYC dealing with
the harsh realities of NYC turmoil such as the financial bedlam and record industry bedlam. Despite the ills of 2008 hardship of New York, The Day Laborers, 2 up and coming emcees bought to me a maxi single that I was pleased to hear. I'm always pleased to hear innoviative and creative hip hop. This single may lack creativity to some. You think its outdated or unfinished but in all actuality to me its more of a hip hop tribute. Settin' off the single with the 1st cut, "Came In The Door", using the Rakim lyric sample as the hook. A good way to rep hip hop and Long Island with having your fellow Long Islander on the hook of the song. A good hardcore track to set off the maxi single from that song gives you a direct idea of where the 2 stand. "Burn One f/ Mac Lethal" , a song with a mid 90s hip hop feel. The beat of the song has a sound reminiscent to a Brand Nubian song not sure which one but a song off the "In God We Trust" album. The Day Laborers showing luv to real hip hop by the intro which starts with a diss aimed at the Ying Yang Twins. This is a track where The Day Laborers wants you to clean out you ears and check the words as said by Phife Dawg on the hook. This next song, "When it rains it pours" is probably my favorite one off this single. I would definitely bang dis in da club in fact its already in my serato and ready for my next gig. The song has vocal samples of 3 of my favorite emcees, I want you to sit back listen and tell me if you can name these quotes. "Life can get all up in ur ass", "The jewel gotta have patience plus persistence" and "It's my world and I won't stop". These quotes were blended perfectly for the hook of "When it rains it pours". The last track on this single, "Facing days". "Facing days" has a bluesy feel to it probably the most original track on the single. The Day Laborers have the funk of the beats and mic skillz to solidify themselves a place in hip hop. They may not ever reach a gold and platinum status but The Day Laborers they got sumthin and only time will tell.

M.C. TOO TALL - www.myspace.com/mctootall - www.crownedeagleent.org

This next emcee on the corner of the Brooklyn is a unusual emcee but humorous. MC Too Tall coming str8 outta Marlboro Projects, the Gravesend-Bensonhurst area. I never thought I be rating and reviewing a artist from this part of town. But as this segment goes its to see whats on the corner and what can git off the corner and into record stores worldwide. This is a 2 part single, the 1st songs on the cd are performed by MC Too Tall and last 2 are performed by Mr Danceman. Let's talk about MC Too Tall first with his 1st single, "If you come around my way you might git shot", this single at first listen will have listeners confused. The song sounds more East L. A. than East Coast giving it a boricua style, spanglish rappin w/ comedic humor. Its like a parody of gangsta rap except its not aiming any direct shots at it per say but it gives that sound by the hook and the humorous lyrics of the song. The 2nd single, "Happiness" has a rock, country, blues sounding w/ rap lyrics about gaining happiness by either thru luv and/or money. On this song, MC Too Tall is on a search to find happiness.

This is where the cd shifts gears over to anutha artist on the cd that goes by the name of Mr Danceman that takes up the last 2 parts of the maxi single. This song I know you'll love its a definite club banger its banging in the clubs right now. Its called, "Girls That Swallow", an 80s retro club sound. Not so much of a song More of dance. The chants of "Girls that swallow" being repeated thru out the the interlude. Which lead to the last track of the maxi single, "Ova There" another 80s style club record with no lyrics just a club beat playing as the hook repeats, "Yeah Over There", numerous times. Whoever this Mr Danceman is, he's obviously a producer on the same label as MC Too Tall which lead to this compilation single released by Crowned Eagle Ent.

This end this entry of my Rusty Jabbz Entertainment Blog Magazine June 2009 Issue join me tomorrow as I will be reviewing more emcees throughout the city, the state, the country that are on the corner.

RUSTY JABBZ NEWSLETTER MAY 2009 ENTRY# 3

RUSTY JABBZ ENTERTAINMENT GROUP IN CONJUNCTION WITH TALK LIKE SEX INC

Dj Handspin Dinero and my gurl, Uneek here to begin the preface of our TALK LIKE SEX FORUM but first let me git sum things off my chest first.

I just want to let all my emcees, dee jays, producers and dancers that I'm accepting all types of promos for review feel free to send me info and demo materials to djhandspindinero@yahoo.com

I also want to let everyone know that my RUSTY JABBZ RATING SYSTEM has changed. I created a new rating system to help these current and new emcees to step their lyrical game up to RUSTY JABBZ STATUS. Don't think cuz I'm a lil' internet newsletter that I do not know whuts real and whuts phony. I pride myself on being a HIP HOP ENTHUSIAST.
The new rating system will be as follows.......
NEW RUSTY JABBZ RATING SYSTEM:
A. 1 JABB = NICOTINE
B. 2 JABBZ = GANJA
C. 3 JABBZ = METHAMPHETAMINE (if u can't say it all just say METH)
D. 4 JABBZ = CRACK
E. 5 JABBZ = HEREOIN

The reason for this rating change is because I' am disgusted at the current state of hip hop. I been disgusted with hip hop state of mind for years but I held on and kept the faith that HIP HOP WILL OVER COME! No more holding on to hip hop. HIP HOP SUCKS. I figure this rating system will give some sort of inspiration. Alotta you emcees out there spit the same ol' same ol'. What I'm saying there is too many SAMES in this GAME. SAME SUBJECT MATTER, SAME FLOW, SAME PRODUCERS, SAME BEATS, SAME PRODUCTION SIGNATURE, SAME GUEST APPEARANCES, SAME GHOSTWRITERS. There is too too many SAMES. This rating system will make it easier for me to review alotta you CORNBALL RAPPERS. Alotta u emcees out there rhyme style is as potent as GANJA so I know from this date. Mark it down, May 19th, 2009 every mixtape, single, album or whutever your material is going to be as good as GANJA. Alotta you emcees shud not worry about being HEREOIN STATUS anymore. Now its a success to be considered on a METHAMPHETAMINE STATUS.
